Report: Bills trade Zay Jones to Raiders
The Buffalo Bills have traded wide receiver Zay Jones to the Oakland Raiders for a 2021 fifth-round draft pick, reports ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
Jones, a former second-rounder, had seven receptions for 69 yards in five outings with Buffalo this season. He saw just one snap in Week 5.
The 24-year-old never developed into the possession receiver the Bills envisioned when they drafted him out of East Carolina, with which he set a Division I record with 399 career receptions.
Jones did show signs of promise last season, catching 56 passes for 652 yards and seven touchdowns. However, he saw a whopping 102 targets, making him one of the least efficient receivers in the league.
The Raiders, who are off to a 3-2 start, went into their bye week dealing with injuries at wide receiver.
Buffalo is 4-1 and also entering its bye.
