A.J. Green yet to be cleared from ankle injury, ruled out for Week 4
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor announced Monday that wide receiver A.J. Green has yet to be cleared from his ankle injury and won't play in the team's Week 4 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to ESPN's Ben Baby.
Taylor doesn't expect Green to practice this week and declined to provide a timeline for his recovery.
The veteran wideout shed his walking boot earlier this month after he underwent surgery to repair torn ankle ligaments in July.
Early reports indicated Green could return early in the 2019 season, but both parties have taken a cautious approach with the injury.
The seven-time Pro Bowler has struggled to stay on the field in recent years, missing seven games with a toe issue last season and another six due to a hamstring tear in 2016.
John Ross and Tyler Boyd will continue to be Cincinnati's primary receivers in Green's absence.
