Report: Raiders' Abram could hit IR after injuring shoulder vs. Broncos

Oakland Raiders rookie safety Johnathan Abram reportedly suffered a shoulder injury during Monday night's win over the Denver Broncos, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson.

Abram is seeking a second opinion on the injury, but it's possible that he could be placed on injured reserve, Anderson reports.

The first-round defensive back will undergo shoulder surgery, according to The Athletic's Vic Tafur, but a timeline for recovery has yet to be determined.

Abram played in 48 of Oakland's 62 defensive snaps. He totaled five tackles in his NFL debut, delivering a number of big hits.

Oakland selected Abram No. 27 overall in April's draft out of Mississippi State. He was the final of the club's three first-round selections.
