Every Tuesday of the college football season we'll be covering the week's best betting angles.

Here are some of the most unique trends to keep an eye on for Week 1.

Wagner at UConn

Line: UConn -17.5
Total: 70.5

UConn is laying plenty of chalk in Week 1 and there's a good chance the Huskies won't be favored at all the rest of the season. They're still looking to cover their first non-conference game under head coach Randy Edsall, as UConn is 0-6-1 against the spread since 2016.

Trend play: Wagner +17.5

Toledo at Kentucky

Line: Kentucky -12
Total: 58.5

Kentucky certainly preferred the underdog role last season. Not only did the Wildcats go 4-2 against the spread when getting points in 2018, they won all four outright, including victories over Mississippi State (+9.5) and Florida (+13.5). It's been a different story as favorites, however: The Wildcats are on a 2-12 run against the spread as an overall favorite and a 1-8 skid when laying double digits under head coach Mark Stoops.

Trend play: Toledo +12

Oklahoma State at Oregon State

Line: Oklahoma State -14.5
Total: 74

Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy is cut from the same cloth as Stoops. The Cowboys covered all fives games as underdogs last season - they won four of those outright - but were 1-6 against the number as favorites. From what we've heard this summer, the offense is transitioning just fine under first-year offensive coordinator Sean Gleeson, who helped Princeton lead the FCS in points per game last season. Still, it's a big number to lay on the road, even to a Pac-12 bottom-feeder.

Trend play: Oregon State +14.5

Duke at Alabama

Line: Alabama -34.5
Total: 57.5

Head coach Nick Saban likes to send a message in openers, evident by Alabama covering 10 of its last 11 (2007 against Western Carolina wasn't lined; Alabama won, 52-6). Not only have the Tide been dominant against the spread in Week 1, their offense, in particular, has been excellent, averaging an even 40 points per game in those 11 situations.

Trend play: Alabama -34.5

Purdue at Nevada

Line: Purdue -10.5
Total: 57

Purdue's gone under the total in 10 of the last 11 on the road. The Boilermakers' offensive output could take a hit this season, as the team will have a ton of inexperience on that side of the ball. Purdue starts the season away from home at Nevada, a team that closed last season on a 4-1 run to the under.

Trend play: Under 57

Eastern Washington at Washington

Line: Washington -21.5
Total: 54.5

One of college football's most underwhelming teams against the spread last season (4-10), Washington has also been tough to trust as a double-digit favorite as of late. Not only are the Huskies 1-7 against the spread in their last eight in that spot, they've gone under their team total in six of those situations as well.

Trend play: Eastern Washington +21.5
