Brown's camp located preferred helmet model, working to get it certified

It seems that Antonio Brown's ongoing fight to wear a helmet that's no longer approved by the NFL is nearing its end.

Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said they've located helmets of the Oakland Raiders wideout's preferred Schutt Air Advantage model that have been manufactured within the past 10 years and are working to get them certified and cleared for usage.

"Hopefully we're going to get this behind us soon," Rosenhaus said, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Michael Gehlken.

Although the NFL banned the 10-year-old model Brown asked to wear, the league will reportedly allow the headgear if he can find a version of the helmet that fits and is less than 10 years old.

Brown addressed his pursuit of the helmet in his return to Raiders camp Tuesday.

"We're working with the NFL ... to make sure I put on the right equipment-approved helmet, and I'll be ready to go shortly," Brown told reporters.

Earlier Tuesday, Brown solicited the help of Twitter to find a version of his preferred helmet model that was manufactured in or after 2010. The helmet needs to be certified before Brown can wear it on the field.

Rosenhaus shot down prior reports that Brown would walk away from the game if he's unable to wear his preferred helmet, saying the star's absence has been due to his ailing feet.

"I don't think there was ever any legitimacy to the retirement talk," Rosenhaus said, according to Gehlken.
