Canada's Olynyk out 1 week, Boucher pulls out of World Cup
Team Canada's Kelly Olynyk is expected to miss just one week to recover from a bruised knee after suffering an awkward fall during an exhibition game against Nigeria on Wednesday, according to Sportsnet's Michael Grange.
The 28-year-old will remain with the team. He's arguably Canada's most important piece in the team's efforts to advance past the group stage of the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
Grange also confirmed that Toronto Raptors center Chris Boucher won't continue with Canada due to personal reasons. Boucher joins Jamal Murray and RJ Barrett as Canadian NBA players recently forced to pull out of the tournament.
Only three NBA players remain on Canada's roster, including Olynyk (Miami Heat), Cory Joseph (Sacramento Kings), and Khem Birch (Orlando Magic).
