Another Heisman Trophy is hitting the auction block.
The 1998 Heisman awarded to former Texas running back Ricky Williams will be auctioned off in October, and it could set a record price, according to Action Network's Darren Rovell.
Ricky Williams Heisman Trophy is being auctioned by @HeritageAuction in October. Williams sold it privately, person who bought it consigned it to auction. Estimate is $500,000+. It’s the last Trophy (1998) where the winner didn’t have to sign a waiver saying he wouldn’t sell it. pic.twitter.com/Lz2TeafF71

The current record for a Heisman sold at auction is $435,763, which someone paid in December for Tim Brown's 1987 trophy.
As Rovell notes, Heisman winners have been required since 1999 to sign a waiver forbidding them from selling the trophy.
