David Ortiz was released from the hospital on Friday, a family friend said, according to Marly Rivera of ESPN.
He will continue his rehabilitation from home and will be monitored by nurses while receiving regular visits by his personal physician.
The former Boston Red Sox slugger was hospitalized in June after being shot in the Dominican Republic. He underwent a third surgery related to the incident in early July.
Ortiz was shot on June 9, though Dominican police concluded that the former major-leaguer was not the intended target. He was later moved to Massachusetts General Hospital where he had been undergoing treatment.
