The Los Angeles Chargers placed offensive tackle Russell Okung on the non-football illness list as the team opens training camp, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
General manager Tom Telesco stated Okung began dealing with a "pretty serious medical issue" in early June and could miss all of camp, according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic. He sat out mandatory minicamp due to the ailment.
The 30-year-old lineman has solidified Los Angeles' offensive line since signing with the squad in 2017. He started 15 games at left tackle in 2018.
The Chargers stated in June that Okung is without a timetable for return and didn't clarify whether his status to start the upcoming campaign is in jeopardy.
