Report: Kings expected to sign Dedmon to 3-year, $40M deal
The Sacramento Kings are reportedly expected to sign veteran center Dewayne Dedmon to a three-year, $40-million contract with a partial guarantee on the final year, according to The Athletic's Sam Amick.
The soon-to-be 30-year-old center played a strong supporting role for the rebuilding Atlanta Hawks over the past two seasons. In 25 minutes per game, the 7-footer tallied 10.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and one block.
Dedmon has also become a competent 3-point shooter. He connected on 37.2 percent of his shots from beyond the arc while hoisting nearly three attempts per game during his Hawks tenure.
In Sacramento, Dedmon will join a frontcourt which includes 2018 No. 2 overall pick Marvin Bagley. The 20-year-old power forward earned NBA All-Rookie first team honors this past year.
