Megan Rapinoe made her feelings very clear regarding the possibility of a trip to the White House if the United States wins the 2019 Women's World Cup.

Asked Tuesday if she was excited about a potential visit should the Americans repeat as champions in France, the soccer star scoffed and told Eight by Eight magazine, "I'm not going to the fucking White House. No. I'm not going to the White House. We're not gonna be invited. I doubt it."

President Donald Trump responded on Twitter on Wednesday by accusing Rapinoe of disrespecting the U.S.

After tagging the wrong account in his initial attempt to respond, Trump suggested Rapinoe reserve comments about a White House visit until her side actually wins the tournament, but then extended an offer to the entire team regardless of its final result.

Rapinoe has previously upset Trump by kneeling during the U.S. national anthem to protest police brutality and discrimination of minorities.

Her actions prompted the U.S. Soccer Federation to impose a new rule requiring players to stand during the anthem. To continue her protest, Rapinoe told Henry Bushnell of Yahoo Sports in May she would likely "never" place her hand over her heart or sing the anthem again. She has stood silently with her hands at her sides during the anthem at the Women's World Cup.

The U.S. will face host France in the quarterfinals Friday.
