With the No. 52 pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets selected San Diego State forward Jalen McDaniels.
The rail-thin, ultra-talented forward likely won't be ready to immediately impact an NBA game but he has enough skill to develop into a consistent rotation player. He's become a solid playmaker for his size and could be effective at attacking the rim thanks to his length.
Defensively, McDaniels should be able to switch onto the perimeter and help stifle passing lanes. However, his lack of strength may hurt him if he isn't able to pack on some pounds.

What the analysts are saying
- "McDaniels was inconsistent from the perimeter in his two years in college, though his defensive versatility, ability to create offense at 6-10, and overall upside are intriguing long term." - ESPN's Jonathan Givony
