The Philadelphia 76ers are sending forward Jonathon Simmons and the No. 42 pick to the Washington Wizards, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Philadelphia is essentially shedding salary from its payroll as it hopes to re-sign Tobias Harris and Jimmy Butler to expensive deals.
Simmons has $5.7 million remaining on the final year of his contract.
The 29-year-old averaged 5.5 points and 2.2 assists in 15 appearances with the 76ers last year.
