With the 34th pick in the 2019 MLB amateur draft, the Arizona Diamondbacks selected Drey Jameson, a right-handed pitcher from Ball State.

Jameson has the unfortunate distinction of being the best pitching prospect out of Ball State since Bryan Bullington, who went first overall to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2002 and is widely considered one of the biggest draft busts in history.

The comparisons between Bullington and Jameson stop at alma mater, though. The right-hander possesses an elite fastball for his size and mixes in an advanced curveball and changeup despite being a sophomore.
