With the 30th pick in the 2019 MLB amateur draft, the New York Yankees selected Anthony Volpe, a shortstop out of New Jersey.

The light-hitting teenager is a Vanderbilt commit, and scouts laud him for his elite makeup and work ethic. That, in tandem with his solid plate approach and instincts, make Volpe one of the more projectable prospects, even if his tools are less refined than others in the same range.
