Pirates select prep right-hander Quinn Priester No. 18 overall

With the 18th pick in the 2019 MLB amateur draft, the Pittsburgh Pirates selected Quinn Priester, a right-handed pitcher from Illinois.

The athletic Priester is known for his electric fastball and plus curveball and has shown no ill-effects from forearm tendinitis sustained in his junior year.

Also a football star as a wide receiver and defensive back, Priester has gotten high grades from scouts for his impressive athleticism.
