With the ninth pick in the 2019 MLB amateur draft, the Atlanta Braves selected Shea Langeliers, a catcher out of Baylor.
Langeliers is considered the second-best backstop available due to his stellar defense and improved offense.
Behind the dish, Langeliers erased 70 percent of attempted base-stealers as a sophomore and was near the 55 percent mark in 2019. He also produced an error-free season and allowed just two passed balls.

MLB.com money quote: "Oregon State's Adley Rutschman is the favorite to go No. 1 overall in the 2019 draft, and the player who shared catching duties with him on the U.S. collegiate national team last summer won't go far behind. Langeliers' defense alone could make him a first-rounder."
