Raptors-76ers Game 7 breaks Canadian viewership record

Canadian hoops fans have stayed glued to their televisions this postseason. As a result, Sunday night's epic Game 7 clash between the Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers was the most-watched basketball game in Canadian history.

An average of 2.2 million Canadians tuned in to watch the Raptors' series-clinching win, according to NBA Canada. Total Canadian viewership during the second round was up 73 percent from last year.

Overall, 5.8 million Canadians saw at least some portion of Sunday's game, capped by Kawhi Leonard's dramatic game-winning buzzer-beater.

The previous single-game record was set during Game 4 of the 2016 Eastern Conference finals when 1.8 million Canadians tuned in to watch the Raptors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers to even that series 2-2.
