Joe Pavelski revealed for the first time that he was dealing with a concussion before being cleared to play in Game 7 on Wednesday night, according to NHL.com's Nick Cotsonika.
Pavelski scored a goal and added an assist to help his San Jose Sharks eliminate the Colorado Avalanche and advance to the Western Conference Final with a 3-2 victory.
It was his first game back since he was injured in Game 7 of the previous series against the Vegas Golden Knights. An awkward hit by both Cody Eakin and Paul Stastny resulted in the controversial cross-checking major that led to an improbable comeback by the Sharks.
Pavelski said earlier this week he felt the play that injured him shouldn't have been deemed a penalty.
