Tennessee's Admiral Schofield: Paces Vols in narrow defeat

Rotowire ·

Schofield had a team-high 27 points (11-22 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) to go along with nine rebounds across 39 minutes in Saturday's 80-82 loss to LSU.

Analysis:

On a day where leading scorer Grant Williams struggled with his shot (5-14 FG), it was Schofield that kept Tennessee afloat, nearly willing them to victory in regulation. It was the best scoring output of conference play for Schofield, who last eclipsed this mark when he recorded 29 in a Dec. 15 victory over Memphis. There's likely a place at the next level for Schofield, who currently projects as a second-round NBA pick. If he can help Tennessee get back on track prior to the postseason, his stock will only rise.
