The Los Angeles Lakers won't increase their latest offer to the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis and are pulling out of negotiations for the time being, a source told the Los Angeles Times' Broderick Turner.

Lakers president of basketball operations Magic Johnson reportedly told Pelicans general manager Dell Demps that his team has made its best offer for Davis and is ready to move on if New Orleans keeps asking for more.

The Lakers had already agreed to trade their young core of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and Ivica Zubac - while also including Kentavious Caldwell-Pope's expiring deal and taking on Solomon Hill's contract to give the Pelicans cap relief - but New Orleans "wanted more and more," according to Turner's source.

The Lakers are willing to re-engage in talks but don't want to bid against themselves and are waiting for the Pelicans to make a counter-offer, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

New Orleans is now reportedly asking the Lakers for six-to-eight draft picks - including four first-rounders - as part of a deal for the All-Star big man.
