It's just a matter of time before Leandro Paredes completes his move to Paris Saint-Germain from Zenit St. Petersburg.

After PSG reportedly hijacked Chelsea's bid to sign Paredes, manager Thomas Tuchel revealed Saturday that a deal to sign the 24-year-old midfielder is imminent.

"It is not done yet, so I cannot say too much," Tuchel told reporters, according to ESPN FC's Jonathan Johnson. "However, we want this transfer completed this weekend."

Despite reports suggesting that Chelsea agreed to a deal in principle with the Argentine, it's understood that PSG won the race to sign Paredes after Zenit accepted their €40-million (£34.7 million) bid plus €5m in add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano and Marcus Christenson of the Guardian.

Signing Paredes will come as somewhat of a relief for PSG after the Ligue 1 side missed out on signing Dutch prodigy Frenkie de Jong, who joined Barcelona from Ajax earlier this week for €75 million.

Paredes, who has been capped by Argentina nine times, has scored three goals in 15 matches for a Zenit side that sits atop the Russian Premier League.
