The playoffs ended in excruciating fashion for the Chicago Bears and kicker Cody Parkey.

With a chance to advance to the second round with a 43-yard field goal, Parkey's kick hit an upright and the crossbar before landing on the turf in front of the goalposts. The Bears lost the game to the Philadelphia Eagles 16-15.

"You can't make this up. I feel terrible. I let the team down. That's on me. I have to own it, I have to be a man and unfortunately that's the way it went today," Parkey said to reporters postgame.

"That's one of the worst feelings in the world to let your team down. I feel terrible. I'll sleep at night knowing that I did everything in my power this week to go and make that kick and for whatever reason it hit the crossbar, and the upright, and I still couldn't do it."

And thus, with two thuds, the Bears' incredible turnaround from worst to first in the NFC North came to a halt.
