LeBron James received clearance to increase "on-court functional basketball movements," the Los Angeles Lakers announced Thursday, but the team won't update his status again until next Wednesday.
James has been out since suffering a groin strain on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors. He resumed shooting a week later but has been a limited participant in practice.
If James misses six more games in 2018-19, he will set a career record for most missed games in a regular season. The Lakers are 3-5 without him.
