Washington Redskins star left tackle Trent Williams is expected to miss "about a month" following thumb surgery, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano.
Williams went under the knife to repair a dislocated thumb earlier this week and has already been ruled out for Week 9.
The No. 4 overall pick in 2010 is among the top offensive linemen in the NFL, earning a Pro Bowl berth in each of his last six seasons.
Veteran Ty Nsekhe will fill in for Williams at left tackle during his absence.
Washington's next four games come against the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Houston Texans, and Dallas Cowboys.
