Barcelona announced Tuesday that forward Paco Alcacer will join Borussia Dortmund on a season-long loan after reaching an agreement with the German club worth €2 million.

The deal includes an option for Dortmund to buy the 24-year-old for €23 million, plus €5 million in add-ons.

However, Barcelona will have the option to refuse the sale at the end of the 2018-19 season. The defending La Liga champions will also be eligible to collect five percent of any future profit from the sale of the Spanish international by Borussia Dortmund.

Alcacer spent two seasons in the Catalan capital after Barcelona paid Valencia €30 million and signed him to a five-year contract in 2016. But the forward ultimately failed to impress at the Camp Nou, and only managed to make 50 appearances in a Barcelona kit.

Despite his lack of playing time, Alcacer, who scored 15 goals in all competitions, won a pair of Copa del Reys, a La Liga championship, and the Spanish Super Cup with Barcelona.
