Valencia have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Portuguese winger Goncalo Guedes on a permanent transfer, the Spanish side announced Monday.
Spanish dailies Marca and AS believe Valencia will pay an initial €40 million for Guedes, who spent the 2017-18 season on loan with Los Che. The fee could rise to €50 million if certain bonuses are achieved.
The looming spectre of Financial Fair Play likely influenced PSG's decision to sell the 21-year-old, with UEFA reopening an investigation into the club earlier in the summer. The capital club reportedly valued the player at €80 million, and rejected Valencia's initial €40-million offer before the World Cup.
However, it appears PSG ended up accepting an identical bid with just days remaining in the transfer window.
Guedes was an inspiration for Valencia the previous campaign, registering five goals and nine assists in 33 La Liga appearances as they qualified for the Champions League.
