The Cleveland Browns announced Saturday that wide receiver Josh Gordon has been activated from the non-football injury list.

Gordon will be promoted to the active roster and participate in all team activities, but the Browns are unsure whether he'll be cleared to play Week 1.

The wideout temporarily left the team July 23, days before training camp opened, to focus on his "overall mental and physical health." He rejoined the team last week.

Browns head coach Hue Jackson revealed Saturday that Gordon tweaked his hamstring, according to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, and won't play until the coach is convinced Gordon's "totally ready."

The talented pass-catcher has missed all but 10 games over the previous four seasons due to suspensions related to substance abuse, but Cleveland is hopeful he can be cleared for their Week 1 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Gordon led the NFL with 1,646 receiving yards in 2013, his last full campaign with the team. He amassed 18 receptions, 335 receiving yards, and one touchdown in five games last season.
