Barcelona and Sevilla will meet in Tangier, Morocco, on Aug. 12 to contest the first-ever Spanish Super Cup on foreign soil.
It will also be played as a single match for the first time in 35 years due to scheduling conflicts between the two sides.
The RFEF made the decision to host the marquee clash at the 45,000-capacity Tangier Stadium, which was inaugurated in 2011 with a friendly involving Atletico Madrid.
The Super Cup historically followed a two-leg format that gave each team the opportunity to play at home, but Sevilla's obligations in the Europa League made it difficult to arrange.
Barcelona won the domestic double last season, while Sevilla finished as runner-up in the Copa del Rey final.
