It looks like it will be one goalkeeper in and another out at Liverpool this week.

With Roma director Monchi confirming Alisson's imminent big-money move to Anfield, it appears the Reds are willing to allow backup stopper Danny Ward to depart.

Talks have already taken place with Leicester City over a move which could be worth £12 million, the Liverpool Echo's Ian Doyle reports. He adds that Ward was primed for pre-season action on Merseyside before it became clear that Alisson's move would be completed.

Ward will discuss personal terms with Leicester in the next 48 hours and is being signed to compete with Kasper Schmeichel for the No. 1 spot, rather than to outright replace the Denmark 'keeper, according to the Telegraph's John Percy.

The 25-year-old Wales international has been a Liverpool player for five years but has made just three appearances in that time, instead spending most of his Reds career out on loan. His form in goal helped Huddersfield Town win promotion to the Premier League in 2016-17.
