Cowboys' Gregory reinstated after 18-month ban from NFL

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Randy Gregory has been reinstated by the NFL on a conditional basis following a year-long suspension.

Gregory had been suspended since January 2017 for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. He was also previously suspended for a combined 14 games during the 2016 season due to multiple substance-abuse violations.

"I've never been more proud of any individual in my life," Gregory's lawyer, Daniel Moskowitz, said according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "I'm very excited for Randy and his daughter and the rest of his family."

Gregory, a 2015 second-round draft pick, could provide the Cowboys with much-needed help getting to the quarterback this season. Despite Demarcus Lawrence's monster 2017 campaign - in which he recorded 14.5 sacks - the team finished 15th in the league with a total of 38.
