The Vegas Golden Knights have locked down one of the offseason's top free agents by signing center Paul Stastny, the club announced Sunday.
The terms weren't officially disclosed, but TSN's Bob McKenzie reports the deal is three years in length with an annual cap hit of $6.5 million.
Stastny was thought to be the second-best center on the market behind John Tavares. The 32-year-old made $7 million from 2014 to 2018, signing with the St. Louis Blues before being dealt last season to the Winnipeg Jets.
A strong two-way player, Stastny had 16 goals and 53 points in 82 games in 2017-18.
