Sports and hip-hop have long shared a close relationship. Whether it was N.W.A. helping to popularize the Raiders Starter jacket in the 80s, Jay-Z launching a sports division of his Roc Nation agency, or Drake being named the Toronto Raptors' global ambassador, there's been plenty of crossover between the two worlds.

A new study from Fanatics, titled "Beyond Hoops and Hip-Hop," delved into the sports and hip-hop relationship by analyzing 300 iconic rap songs to see which teams are repped the most by hip-hop artists.

Nearly half of the music videos watched for the study featured an NBA jersey, with the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls the most popular.

When it comes to headwear in hip-hop, MLB teams reign supreme. New York Yankees gear made the most appearances in music videos, followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves.

At 58.8 percent, the most represented league was also the MLB when accounting for all sports-related apparel.
