The Big Apple's newest star is expected to make some big noise during his first NFL season.
New York Giants first-year running back Saquon Barkley opened as the favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2018, with Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield the only player within reach of the former Penn State standout, according to OddsShark.
| Player | Team | Odds |
|---|---|---|
| Saquon Barkley | Giants | +150 |
| Baker Mayfield | Browns | +275 |
| Josh Allen | Bills | +800 |
| Josh Rosen | Cardinals | +1000 |
| Rashaad Penny | Seahawks | +1400 |
| Derrius Guice | Redskins | +1800 |
| Lamar Jackson | Ravens | +2000 |
| Sam Darnold | Jets | +2000 |
| Ronald Jones II | Buccaneers | +3000 |
| Sony Michel | Patriots | +3000 |
| DJ Moore | Panthers | +3300 |
| Calvin Ridley | Falcons | +4000 |
Barkley should slot in as the Giants' primary running back from Day 1, while none of the five quarterbacks taken in the first round - Mayfield, Darnold, Allen, Rosen, and Jackson - have a clear path to their respective starting jobs.
However, as we saw last season with Alvin Kamara and Kareem Hunt, it's nearly impossible to predict which first-year player will make the biggest impact.
