Cardinals' Bradford texted Rosen after draft to offer unconditional support

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Sam Bradford is doing his best to create a welcoming environment for the player who's expected to eventually replace him.

The Cardinals traded up to select quarterback Josh Rosen with the No. 10 overall pick on Thursday, and the former UCLA standout will compete for the starting role during his rookie year.

But despite facing new competition for his job, Bradford sent a warm text to Rosen on Friday, which the rookie immediately read aloud to his agent in a documentary produced by the Cardinals.

"(Bradford) said, 'Josh, what's up, man? Welcome to Arizona,'" Rosen says in one of the scenes, as transcribed by Darren Urban of the team's official website. "'Just wanted to let you know that I look forward to playing with you. I'll be an open book, so if you ever need anything or have any questions, feel free to ask. Hope all is well.'"

Bradford, who went first overall in 2010, knows the unique challenges and perils of being a top draft pick, and it's certainly beneficial to the Cardinals that he's seemingly willing to use his expertise to aid his new teammate - and his potential replacement.
