Leave it to the Super Bowl-champion Philadelphia Eagles to experiment in the seventh round.
The Eagles traded up with the New England Patriots to select former Australian rugby player Jordan Mailata 233rd overall. They intend to play him at offensive tackle.
Mailata starred for the South Sydney Rabbitohs of the National Rugby League. He hasn't played American football, but at 6-foot-8, 346 pounds, and with 35.5-inch arms, his athleticism and physicality ought to translate well to the American pro game.
