Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones continued to be coy Friday about a potential trade for Seattle Seahawks star safety Earl Thomas.

Thomas, who grew up idolizing the Cowboys, piqued interest in a potential deal when he warmly greeted members of their staff following a December 2017 game that the Seahawks won 21-12.

While Seattle has reportedly listened to two offers for Thomas, and Dallas reportedly offered a second-round pick, it still appears there won't be an imminent deal. However, Jones happily left the possibility open.

"We can't talk about that deal," Jones told Clarence Hill of The Star-Telegram.

For the time being, a trade involving the best safety of his generation is still just a compelling rumor.
