The Los Angeles Rams picked up their fifth-year options on cornerback Marcus Peters and running back Todd Gurley, the team confirmed Tuesday.

Gurley is coming off an outstanding season where he led the NFL with 13 rushing touchdowns and rushed for 1,305 yards, adding 64 receptions for 788 yards and six receiving touchdowns. For his efforts, Gurley was named a first-team All-Pro, won Offensive Player of the Year, and finished second in MVP voting.

Peters recorded 46 tackles, five interceptions, and four forced fumbles in 14 games with the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2017 season. The Rams acquired Peters in a trade with the Chiefs in February, sending a 2018 fourth-round and 2019 second-round pick in exchange for the cornerback and a 2018 sixth-round pick.

Gurley and Peters figure to be key components of the Rams' future as the team looks to build upon a strong 2017 season and contend for a Super Bowl.
