Report: Police investigating Cowboys' Irving over assault
The Frisco, Texas police department is investigating Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle David Irving for three crimes, including assault, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
A woman who said she was Irving's girlfriend called police to report incidents of domestic violence, according to Jori Epstein and Julieta Chiquillo of SportsDay. The investigation is related to allegations of assault with bodily injury, assault by impeding breath, and unlawful restraint.
Irving was charged with domestic abuse causing injury in November 2013, with the charges being dropped in January 2014.
The Cowboys are also investigating the issues as they pertain to Irving's status with the team, adds Rapoport.
Irving's Twitter account appeared to be hacked Monday morning with posts about domestic violence and failed drug tests ending his football career.
