Report: Snead to join Ravens after Saints decline to match offer sheet
Willie Snead is apparently joining the Baltimore Ravens, as a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN that the New Orleans Saints declined to match the offer sheet the receiver signed last week.
The Ravens reportedly signed the veteran receiver to a two-year offer sheet Friday that could be worth up to $10.4 million, giving the Saints five days to match the deal or lose the fourth-year pro. New Orleans made its decision Monday, well ahead of the deadline.
Snead becomes the third receiving piece to join the Ravens this offseason after Michael Crabtree and John Brown signed on with the AFC North club. With his addition, it appears that the Ravens will not pursue former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant to add another offensive weapon.
Now that Baltimore is acquiring former Saints’ WR Willie Snead, Ravens are out on Dez Bryant. They showed some initial interest.

Snead was highly productive over his first two seasons with the Saints, catching 141 balls for 1,879 yards, but he only recorded eight catches last year as he missed time due to suspension and injury.
The Saints signed former Chicago Bears wideout Cameron Meredith earlier in April, making Snead expendable.
