In 1905, Tyrus Raymond Cobb made his Major League Baseball debut with the Detroit Tigers, hitting a double off of eventual Hall of Famer "Happy" Jack Chesboro. The rest is history.
Inducted into the Professional Baseball Hall of Fame as part of its inaugural class in 1936, Cobb's on-field accomplishments and his ferocious character make the outfielder one of the most controversial figures in baseball history.
