Earl Thomas' representatives told Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider the star safety won't hold out this season, even if that means entering the final year of his contract without an extension.

Schneider, who relayed the message to Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times, added the Seahawks hope Thomas is on the roster when the new season begins, which suggests Seattle isn't particularly motivated to trade him.

Thomas skipped Seattle's voluntary offseason workouts and has made clear his desire for a new contract. However, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll told a local radio station Thursday that he expects the six-time Pro Bowler to attend mandatory team activities in the summer.

"He's a Seahawk," Carroll said on 950 KJR in Seattle. " ... Heck yeah, he better be there. He's on the roster. We're counting on him."

The anchor of the Seahawks' heralded "Legion of Boom" for several years, Thomas has openly questioned whether he has a long-term future in Seattle since the later stages of the 2017 season.

Thomas turns 29 on May 7, and may not fit into Seattle's long-term plans, as it appears set for a rebuild.
