Longtime TNT analyst Kenny Smith will interview for the New York Knicks' head coaching vacancy Friday, sources told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith.
Smith has never coached in the NBA, and began working with TNT after his 10-year playing career ended in 1997. A New York native, Smith won two NBA titles as point guard with the Houston Rockets in the mid-90s.
The Knicks have been linked to several names since firing Jeff Hornacek, including former coach Mike Woodson and G League bench boss Jerry Stackhouse.
