Report: Bell not present for start of Steelers' offseason program

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell did not report for the team's voluntary offseason workouts this week, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Fowler added that Bell is currently working out in Miami on his own. The All-Pro running back was widely expected to stay away from the Steelers amid franchise-tag negotiations. The two sides have until July 16 to hammer out a long-term deal.

Bell was opposed to receiving another one-year contract, but general manager Kevin Colbert said in March he remained hopeful the ball-carrier would attend training camp.

Bell's 1,946 all-purpose yards in 2017 ranked second in the NFL. The franchise tag will pay him $14.544 million for the upcoming season.
