Tennessee Titans general manager Jon Robinson said the team is planning to exercise the fifth-year option on quarterback Marcus Mariota's rookie contract, according to Paul Kuharsky of Midday 180.

The second overall pick of the 2015 draft is currently under contract for the upcoming season at a cap hit of just over $7.7 million.

He'll earn $20.922 million in 2019 under the option.

Mariota has completed 61.8 percent of his 1,274 passing attempts for 9,476 yards and 58 touchdowns over 42 regular-season games through his first three seasons. He's thrown 34 interceptions but added 913 rushing yards and nine scores on the ground.

He led the Titans to the divisional round of the 2017 postseason, which they lost to the New England Patriots by a score of 35-14.
