Eagles' Wentz: My goal is to play Week 1
Super Bowl champion Nick Foles' second run as the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback may not extend past the preseason.
Injured 2017 starter Carson Wentz maintains his expectation is to be ready for the Eagles' 2018 season opener.
"That's still the goal," Wentz said Tuesday when asked by Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadelphia if he plans on taking the field in Week 1.
Wentz added he doesn't need to play in the preseason in order to be ready for the regular season.
The 25-year-old saw his breakout sophomore campaign halted due to a knee injury suffered in Week 14. Despite a physically demanding style of play, Wentz is adamant he's "not going to change" his game.
