Darnold switched Cleveland flight to throw at USC teammate's pro day
Sam Darnold: potential No. 1 overall pick and apparently an all-around good guy.
The former USC quarterback showed off his lauded intangibles by switching his flight from Cleveland so he could throw for his former USC teammate, running back Ronald Jones II, according to ESPN.
"He's always been the man," Jones told reporters.
Jones and former Trojans wide receiver Deontay Burnett worked out at a special second pro day Thursday as both were limited by hamstring issues during the official event March 21.
The 6-foot-3, 221-pounder was visiting the Browns, who own the No. 1 overall pick and are widely expected to use it on a quarterback.
Darnold is in competition with the likes of Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, and Baker Mayfield to be the first quarterback off the board, and on April 26, the NFL world will find out if the good guy has done enough to finish first.
