The Los Angeles Chargers have selected defensive tackle Justin Jones out of N.C. State in the third round with the 84th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Jones gives the Chargers some much-needed youth in the middle of their defensive line as 2017 starter Brandon Mebane is 33 and 28-year-old Corey Liuget will have to serve a suspension to start next season. The N.C. State product is the Chargers' third defensive player drafted in as many picks.

What the analysts are saying
- "Inconsistent timing with his reach and doesn’t catch blockers off balance. Too easily slowed when blockers get into his chest, struggling to shed. Well put together with distributed body mass. Naturally strong and overpowers blockers through the numbers. Powerful leg drive." - Dane Brugler, NFLDraftScout.com
- "Strong player who plays his role along the North Carolina State defensive front, but he doesn't really shine in any single area." - Lance Zierlein, NFL.com
