Follow The Masters - and Tiger - with theScore app!

theScore

It’s Masters week! And we’ve just dropped an update to theScore app that’ll have you virtually smelling the azaleas from Augusta National through your mobile device.*

Our entire golf section on both iOS and Android has just undergone the biggest redesign in its history - plus we’ve added a feature that many of you have been asking for: The ability to ‘follow’ individual golfers!

That’s right, for the first time, you can now ‘favorite’ Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, or any other player and receive alerts for tee times, breaking news, scoring changes, scores through nine holes, round end results, final event results, and even if they miss the cut or withdraw from an event.

On top of this, we’ve also added:

Redesigned schedule and tournament pages: Our rich new visuals make theScore’s golf section come alive. We’ve got eye-catching tournament-specific images, and once you click into a tournament, you’ll see more information than ever before. Pre-tournament field lists, tee times, and player favoriting are all there, along with our editorial coverage of the PGA Tour and course information.

Player pages: While we’ve had player pages on theScore for a long time with other sports, we’ve now got them for golfers, too. These pages have news for each player, full season stats, tournament results, and biographical information.

This is a pretty good start, but in the coming weeks, we’ll also be adding:

  • Player scorecards (for the Masters, you can find hole-by-hole updates for select players pinned to the top of their Player Profile pages).

  • Full support for the European Tour and LPGA Tour

  • Match Play and Cup Play integration

  • Detailed hole scoring information

  • Tournament specific tweaks, such as weather and TV listing information

So update your app from the App Store or Google Play now, and be fully prepared for the first major of the season.

*May not be able to smell azaleas through phone.
