Jim Mora attempts to clarify comments about Rosen
Jim Mora has recently made a number of comments about Josh Rosen, whom he coached at UCLA, and he attempted to clarify them on Monday.
Last week, Mora said if he were running the Cleveland Browns, USC quarterback Sam Darnold would be the first pick in the draft, and Rosen would be best suited for the New York Giants or Jets. He also said the former UCLA pivot needs to be "challenged intellectually so he doesn't get bored."
Mora continued making his rounds through the media with an appearance on NFL Network on Monday.
"Do I think he's the best QB in the draft? No.

"Do I think (Rosen's) the best quarterback in the draft? No, I think he's the best player in the draft. How about that?" Mora said.
"Does that mean I think he's a fit for every team? No. I think being schooled by (Giants head coach) Pat Shurmur, great fit for a guy as smart as Josh Rosen. To be in a room with (Jets offensive coordinator) Jeremy Bates, great fit for a guy like Josh Rosen. I think he'll excel."
Mora admitted his previous comments struck a chord with the player he coached for the past three years.
"I had conversations via text with him this weekend, and certainly the fact that I made that statement about Sam stirred it up for him," Mora said. "He's had to answer questions that maybe he shouldn't have had to answer. I don't want him to have to do that, but he's got a great sense of humor."
